My altar boy years, a priest's question, and the moment Jesus became real to me
Jim, that bedrock was significant in your journey--that God is real and is love and loves you. Many in that process lose that anchor.
Thank you, Tim! Yes, this was indeed the bedrock that I kept coming back to in my darkest moments and the reason my faith held firm.
Without that bedrock of some objective truth to rely on, one is left with subjective desires and reason.
I love this.
It was not until seminary that I really *got* the Bible. Really saw the connection between God's love for the world and God's love for *me*.
This is the bedrock that held me firm during my darkest moments. :)
