I enjoyed reading this well-crafted lesson in compassion. I had not read the subtitle before I started, so I was not expecting the references to Jesus at the end. So, I also learned a valuable lesson about grounding a story in faith without making it the primary focus of the narrative. By the way, I recently wrote a story with the subtitle "A chance to be a little more like Leila," in memory of a friend who passed away. Six degrees of separation.
