"Abraham Martin & John": A Song of Lament and Hope
I grew up in the turbulent ‘60s and ‘70s, and current events have made me feel nostalgic for some of the music of that era. Those artists, writers, actors, and musicians were the prophets of their day. May we hear their songs and have hope.
I hope you enjoy this beautiful cover of Dion’s song, “Abraham, Martin, & John.”
Have a blessed weekend!

Thank you, James, for posting this video. I needed this today.
Dion released the recording of the Dick Holler song in 1968. The song gained popularity, perhaps becoming the most popular from Dion. A friend of Bobby Kennedy—Andy Williams—covered the song in 1969. You can hear a slight emotional release when Williams sings the Bobby stanza. Perhaps it is just my imagination. If so, it is an imagination since 1969. https://youtu.be/zBxHBDuEG4U
